I live in the Austin area with my incredible teacher husband and our two, wicked cool kids. When we aren't at the ballpark assistant coaching their baseball and softball teams, I'm home trying to salvage a vegetable and herb garden with this insane Texas heat or staring adoringly at the Beauty & the Beast library wall my husband built.
Campfire Tales
Growing up in Massachusetts means you grow up with ghost stories. For fun, we would take road trips to the most haunted places in New England, go ghost hunting, or visit Salem for Halloween. This love of all things spooky led me to publish a scary short story collection (I'm working on my second). Be warned that I will dress up in the office on Halloween and scare as many people as I can.
Farm
My grandparent's farm south of Boston has been running for over 100 years. As a kid, I'd be let lose in the fields to imagine mythical, boxcar-children adventures. When I was older, I'd work it transplanting, shucking corn, selling to customers, or driving the tractor at a speed slower than walking.
I credit the farm for my writer's mind and my passion for sustainability.
